BJP Trails In 2 Of 4 Parliament Seats, Kairana Biggest Shock

The ruling BJP today appeared set for another big loss in Uttar Pradesh, with the opposition-backed candidate racing ahead in Kairana, the most watched seat in by-polls held across 10 states on Monday. The Kairana seat was widely pitched as a test of opposition unity against the BJP ahead of the 2019 national election. The BJP is leading in Maharashtra's Palghar Lok Sabha seat - where it was pitted against estranged ally Shiv Sena - but trailing in the other seat, Bhandara-Gondia, which it had snatched from the NCP in 2014.
