Earlier this week, the Maratha quota protests turned violent as they brought the financial capital of India, Mumbai to its knees. The event was a stark reminder of how this has become a pattern, a trend. Quota or reservation protests across the country have turned violent in recent times. Wether it be the Jats, the Patidars, the Marathas or UPSC students. So, is this because of joblessness, even if the data on whether jobs have been created or not is confusing.
